What are the benefits of soy wax?

Soy wax is a natural, clean-burning alternative to paraffin wax. It doesn’t release toxins or carcinogens into the air, making it a healthier choice for your space.

Our soy wax is:

  • 100% North American-grown
  • Renewable and biodegradable
  • GMO-free and not tested on animals

Soy wax also burns up to 50% longer and produces around 90% less soot than paraffin—making it a mindful, lasting choice for your home.

How are BLACKETT & CO. candles scented?

We blend essential oils and premium phthalate-free fragrance oils to create our unique scents.

Our fragrances are:

  • Phthalate-free
  • Paraben free
  • Vegan
  • Never tested on animals

Do candles expire?

For the best fragrance experience, we recommend burning your candle within one year of purchase.

How do I prevent tunnelling?

Let your candle burn long enough on the first light. We suggest at least 3 hours, or until the wax melts evenly to the edges of the jar. This creates a smooth, even melt pool and helps your candle burn evenly each time.

Why is the flame too big or giving off black smoke?

A tall flame or dark smoke is often caused by a wick that’s too long or a nearby draft. Keep your candle away from windows, fans, or vents. Use our wick trimmer to trim the wick to 6 mm (¼”) before each burn to keep the flame calm and steady.

Where do you ship?

We currently ship across Canada and the USA.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes—complimentary shipping is available on orders over $125 (before tax and after discounts) within Canada and USA. Orders under $125 in Canada ship for a flat rate of $12.

What shipping methods do you use?

All orders are shipped with tracking via Canada Post or UPS. You’ll receive an email notification once your order has shipped.

What is your return or exchange policy?

If you ordered the wrong product and it hasn’t been used, you’re welcome to exchange it. Shipping charges for exchanges are the customer’s responsibility.

What happens if my package is lost or damaged?

For lost packages:
Please contact us at blackettandco@gmail.com so we can open an investigation with the courier. Note that we are not responsible for packages marked as delivered that go missing.

For damaged items:
If your candle arrives broken or damaged, email us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and your order number. We’ll gladly arrange a replacement.
