A Little Autumn at Home: Finding the Season in the Little Things
A Little Autumn at Home
Finding the Season in the Little Things

There is a particular feeling that arrives with autumn that makes home feel a little different.
The evenings arrive earlier. The air turns crisp. The kitchen fills with scents of seasonal spices. The glow of candles illuminates the shorter days.
Suddenly, staying home sounds like the best possible plan.
Maybe there's something baking in the oven. Maybe you've got a new fall book waiting to be read. Maybe you're pulling out the autumn decor, or maybe you're spending a quiet Sunday doing absolutely nothing at all.
That's what makes autumn so special.
It's not really about the big things.
It's the little things.
These little moments are what inspired the Autumn Starter Kit, a small collection of seasonal pieces designed to help bring a little more of the fall season into your everyday.
The best part of autumn is the feeling of it which our Autumn Starter Kit and fall candle collection both capture.

What does autumn smell like to you?
Scent has a way of bringing us somewhere else.
A particular fragrance can remind you of a recipe from years ago, an old family tradition, or a particular October evening you haven't thought about in years.
That's one of the reasons I love creating candles.
When I'm developing a fragrance, I'm not only thinking about whether it smells beautiful. I'm thinking about where it takes you.
And autumn has so many different stories to tell.
Autumn Sundays
Slow, sweet, and made for staying home.
There's something especially lovely about an autumn Sunday.
The weekend is slowing down. There's a new book waiting to be read. A blanket is within reach. Maybe there's a cup of cinnamon spice tea beside you.
Autumn Sundays was created for exactly that feeling.
With notes of spicy cinnamon, nutmeg, and maple sugar, it's a little reminder that sometimes the best plans are no plans at all.
October Eve
Crisp air, fresh apples, and hot spiced cider.

October Eve captures one of my favourite autumn moments: stepping outside into cool evening air, surrounded by changing leaves, then coming back inside to something warm to drink.
With apple cider and baking spices, it's inspired by an autumn orchard and a mug of hot spiced cider.
This one is also my personal favourite.
Kitchen Witch
Warm, comforting, and a little bit sweet.
Kitchen Witch was inspired by autumn baking and the kind of afternoon when the kitchen is warm, something sweet is in the oven, and the whole house smells like cinnamon and spices.
With notes of hazelnut, cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar, it's the scent of cinnamon sugar cookies, autumn baking, and a favourite fall playlist playing in the background.
It's the autumn kitchen in candle form.
Simmer Pot Spice
Citrus slices, cinnamon sticks, and a warm, spiced home.
Simmer Pot Spice captures the cozy feeling of being home on a cool autumn day, with something warm gently simmering on the stove and the scent filling every corner of the house.
With orange, cinnamon, clove, and vanilla, it's inspired by citrus slices and cinnamon sticks swirling together in a simmering pot creating a warm and wonderfully inviting scent to your home.
Sugar Pie Pumpkin
A softer, slightly sweeter take on pumpkin.

Instead of a straightforward pumpkin fragrance, Sugar Pie Pumpkin was inspired by the pumpkins that come out of the oven soft and golden, ready to be turned into something delicious.
It's a blend of pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and vanilla, with cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and a hint of vanilla bringing that familiar autumn baking feeling together.
It's cozy without being quite as expected.
Making autumn feel like home
You don't need to completely redecorate your home every time the seasons change. A few small changes can be enough.
Set the table
Even an ordinary dinner can feel a little more special when you give the table some attention. Bring out your favourite dishes, add a few seasonal colours, light a candle, and make your favourite fall comfort meal. A slow cooked Irish stew, a roast chicken, or a baked mac and cheese are perfect for the chilly fall weather.
It doesn't have to be complicated.
Change your colours
Autumn naturally brings such beautiful colours into our homes with warm browns, soft creams, muted greens, deep earthy shades.
Even something as simple as changing a phone or desktop wallpaper can make your everyday surroundings feel a little more seasonal. And our Autumn Starter Kit has just the tech background for that!
Make something
Bake something you've made before, or try something new or make a meal that takes a little longer than usual. Put together a menu for the month using our beautiful template in our Autumn Starter Kit for easy meal planning.
There is something satisfying about creating small rituals around the seasons.
Slow down
Perhaps the most important one.
Autumn seems to invite us to slow down a little.
To read the book.
To make a pot of tea.
To light the candle.
To stay home, when we'd really rather to just stay home.
A little something for your autumn

The little things are often the best part
Maybe that's what I love about autumn most.
It's a season that doesn't need much explanation.
A cool evening.
A warm drink.
Something baking.
A favourite book.
A candle burning while the light fades outside.
A table set for people you love.
None of these things are particularly extraordinary on their own. But together, they can make an ordinary day feel special.
And I think that's what I'm always trying to create with Blackett & Co., little things that make home feel a little more like you.
Here's to a cozy autumn, and all the little moments that come with it. 🍂
